Hypnotherapy is a natural state of mind, a form of focused relaxation where we’re able to by-pass the conscious mind and communicate with the subconscious mind to adjust feelings, responses to experiences, thought patterns, habits and perceptions for your highest good.
Works well for stress management, anxiety, weight issues, memory, focus, addictions, self esteem, anger management, grief, smoking cessation, phobias/fears, chronic pain, processing trauma, changing habits, general wellbeing and insomnia- just to name a few!
Deep rest and total relaxation. Sounds good, right? In restorative yoga we use blankets, bolsters, blocks, etc to completely support the body to optimize homeostasis for the parasympathetic nervous system so the body can rest, heal and rebalance. Rather than a sweaty practice, think gently opening the tight, closed off spaces of the body and soul.
Works well for stress management, insomnia, fatigue, burn out, pretty much any situation where renewal and rejuvenation would be helpful.
Research shows that a regular meditation practice changes the composition of the brain. Regular meditators notice increased focus, less reaction to stress and other triggers, better sleep and improved interpersonal relationships. With so many variations and methods of meditation, there is truly something for everyone.
Works well for mood management, anxiety, stress, insomnia, panic, self esteem, motivation, focus and concentration and more!
Breathing. It’s the most important thing we do all day. But how many of us navigate our lives with just a fraction of the breath capacity we truly need to thrive? Or hold our breath, creating tightness and tension in the body? Much like the cognitive influence of a cluttered room verses a tidy room, the breath and the mind mirror each other. I can teach you various techniques to breathe more fully and use this constant companion to change your physiology and create energy, calm and ease in your life.
Works well for releasing tension, quieting anxiety, managing stress, sleeplessness, improving focus, calming down, energizing, improving lung function.
Yoga Nidra is a sleep based meditation technique intended to create balance and well being in the brain and body. And it’s effortless, who wouldn’t be interested in that?! To quote one of my teenage students, “it’s like a nap, only better!”
Works well for stress, tension, insomnia, fatigue, burn out, self esteem, PTSD, general well-being, letting go.
Raised in the Midwest, I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in News Broadcasting. I quickly became disenchanted with the negativity of the industry and put that on the back burner. Three children later I found myself in a situation many moms can relate to- needing mental stimulation and adult interaction. A series of events led me to yoga teacher training at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, completely enchanted by the gentler yogic applications of restorative yoga, breath work and meditation. Eventually I added Yoga Nidra and Hypnotherapy to my tool box. I’ve seen first hand in my life and in the lives of my students and clients how beneficial these practices are. Relaxation does not happen accidentally. Proactive living does not happen accidentally. While it may sound counter-intuitive, processing stress and balancing our thoughts and emotions takes effort, and I love helping people through those processes. I honor the opportunity to bring peace and relaxation into people’s lives.
Are you ready to release what no longer serves you and get on the path to a happier, more peaceful you? Let’s get started!
